IT - Business Analyst Pricing & Promotion


Scope: Pricing Management & Promotion process Management.

Under supervision, the IT Business Analyst Pricing & Promotion will serve as a specialist within one functional area and/or set of processes,   this includes responses to system enhancements. He is acting as a member of a project team and consistently able to address problems and provide solutions of medium complexity

Primary Responsibilities


  • Requirements gathering and analysis 
  • Gathers functional and non-functional business requirements related to promotions and pricing for different businesses and channels
  • Gather information of existing business and technical process flows. These flows are technically distributed over multiple systems and owned by multiple actors in the Carrefour organization 
  • Identify & proposes business improvements
  • Gathers system and reporting specifications
  • Performs the technical analysis of these requirements over the different technical components of the promotion value chain 
  • Gap analysis
  • Transforms the analysis into written detailed functional specifications, 
  • Assists in writing test cases
  • Ensures correct and complete documentation of requests and analysis 
  • Federates the organization around the choices made
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ensures business support for the choices made
  • Is aware that ‘retail is detail’  


Project tasks 


  • Collaborates closely with the Project Team (Project Manager(s), Architects, Business Analyst…)
  • Ensures timely delivery of products (data, documents, test data, test cases…) required for successful project delivery (in budget, on time)
  • Challenges the estimations (time and budget) handed in by the implementation partners 
  • Project planning and execution: participates in the project management process, including participation in project meetings. May document issues, action items, user requirements, or deliverables from project meetings.
  • Performs a variety of project related activities, including analysis or preparation of documentation and presentations.
  • Accomplishes all work within established methodologies and standards


System support


  • Ensures the high availability of the systems of the promotion value chain
  • To that end, collaborates closely with the support teams
  • Business User/Owner Application Support: Provides the basic analysis enabling 2nd and 3rd tier application support for assigned applications
  • Assists in resolving technical and functional issues according to defined prioritization/severity scheme:
  • Ensures and improves the stability of the applications, leading and following up relevant actions towards stability improvements, including regular interactions with the technical teams (infrastructure, architecture, security), problem management follow up, root cause analysis
  • Flexibility in working hours during implementations is required.
  • On all subjects above, collaborates with internal and external partners  


Your Profile


  • You hold a bachelor or masters degree in business management, economics or applied science, with option IT
  • You have a SAP MM/SD or any other pricing/promo application experience
  •  IS-Retail experience through the at least 1 SAP implementation / support role is a plus
  • You have strong technical capabilities  
  • Goal oriented; sets high personal standards of performance, seeks out new challenges and initiates activities
  • Team player; involves others, shares knowledge and seeks opportunities for cross functional Working and collaboration
  • Understanding of potential impacts on cross functional processes
  • You have an excellent proven verbal and written professional command of English. You have a fluent verbal and written of either Dutch or French. 
  • You have a strong interest in retail distribution. Experience in this industry is a plus
  • You combine an analytical mind with strong communication and leadership skills
  • You are eager to learn and you have an appetite for innovative technologies and changing trends in the retail market
  • You are familiar with Confluence, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs and Slides.
