IT Project Manager 

Carrefour Group is looking for a Senior Project Manager for the Gear Up program.

The Gear Up program is a program that aims to transform the current IT department with the deployment of some initiatives/projects from the architecture to the tool to support our customers.

Project Management

  • Manage one or more projects, making sure the project delivers the expected outcomes and benefits
  • Lead project teams through the entire project lifecycle from idea to project execution, including the approval and demand management process, setup of support organization and service management according to the service levels defined by the business
  • Manage the commitment of the project team towards business in terms of scope, planning, cost and quality
  • Manage the different test phases and the user acceptance plan with the business, and coordinate it’s execution
  • Oversee all aspects of projects

Standard

  • Make sure the work is done to the right standard
  • Ensure the project is based on the standard process and methodology as defined by the PMO of IT Governance

Risk

  • Look at the risks involved in a particular project and manage these risks
  • Escalate project issues and risks appropriately, and drive them to resolution in a timely manner

Budget

  • Make sure the project is running to budget

Planning

  • Coordinate work done by different people
  • Plan what work needs to be done, when and who’s going to do it
  • Make sure the project is running on time
  • Monitor and summarize progress of the project
  • Set deadlines

Communication

  • Manage interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders or suppliers 
  • Prepare required reports and presentations (Weekly status, Steerco, PMO Board,…) as defined by the PMO process for upper management regarding status of project

Team Management

  • Actively reinforce the collective intelligence of the project team
  • Build a balanced team and animate collaboration
  • Develop the expertise, professionalism and client orientation of the project team and each project team member
  • Optimize the internal functioning of the project team
  • Ensure internal communication
  • Encourage and promote the diversity of profiles, cultures and experiences within its project team and promote a working environment in which differences are valued
  • Sustain the Carrefour strategy within its project team
  • Ensure the proper understanding of the strategy and ambition by Carrefour teams

Operational Excellence

  • Optimize internal processes
  • Ensure the proper application of procedures in place and makes any necessary corrective action
  • Encourage teams to take measured risks
  • Mobilize the necessary resources, optimizing existing resources while emphasizing timeliness to ensure quality
  • Promote communication within project team and encourage action to speed ensuring consistent interfaces between the service and the rest of the organization
  • Be force proposal daily to experiment with new ways to improve the customer experience

Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the different actors :
    • Business Analyst
    • System Engineer
    • Developer
    • Business
  • Develop his/her own expertise, professionalism and client orientation
  • Be an active ambassador of Carrefour and encourage colleagues

Studies & experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • Experience in the following areas are required:
    • Process enhancement and process implementation
    • Technology implementation to support the process
    • Change Management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience with one or more project management methodologies & Project Management Certification; however, demonstrated experience of five or more years of program and project management can serve as equivalent to certification.
  • Strong business acumen, in the IT and (r)etail industries 
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies
  • Native speaker level in Dutch or French and a professional command of English.
