IT Data Engineer

Modular IT solutions and data-processing are key for Carrefour to serve our customers.
In order to have our solutions well developed and aligned with the market from a technological point of view, we are looking forward to hiring an IT Advisor Technical Data Design who’ll be in charge of the following mission:

• Skeleton design of our applications, data-processing and systems.
• Integration between enterprise architecture and data collection.
• Reinvention and design of the application of technology.
• Make sure that IT Data Analysts and project leaders can focus on the functional and systematic matters, by taking care of the necessary application layers and technical and network components.

Result areas and tasks and responsibilities related to this position are:

Technical Solution:

• Technical architecture design, compatible with the other elements of the architecture.
• Lead on the design, coordination of the construction of our applications and our IT infrastructure by translating the business requirements into technical solutions.

Design:

• Adjust our systems (design, combinations and specific components) to match with our current and future needs, ensure efficiency and user-friendliness.
• Determine which design, combinations and specific components are suitable and which tools work efficiently and are user-friendly.
• Avoid gaps between business needs and technology possibilities, in close collaboration with Business Data Analysts.
• Challenge business requirements and contribute to the strategy, taking innovative technology into account.

Solution Coordination (Build):
Coordinate the construction and integration of our systems with our external providers, resolve issues by diagnosing, identify the solutions.  Ensure the quality of the (integrated) systems.

Technology Improvement:

• Challenge and question our current technology, for continuous improvement.
• Stay tuned about patches and changes to be applied, with the help of IT Infra and Security teams.

System and Application Documentation:
Contribute to the quality of technical documentation in close collaboration with the IT architects.  (Technical, integration, configuration, transformation, data designs, … .)

Collaboration:

• Act as a technical expert and SPOC for IT in the other departments.
• Inform business data analysts, project leaders, … about opportunities in other teams.
• Maintain the change planning with the change manager and project leaders.
• Collaborate with the enterprise and data architect(s), for best integration and data collection.

Your Profile:

• MUST HAVE: Devops Cloud experience
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT technical implementations and design.
• You have previous experience in a similar position.
• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT.
• Experience in retail would be a plus.
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French, and fluent in English.
