Data Governance Officer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Governance Officer to join our team and drive continuous improvement in data quality within our organization. 

In this role, you will:

• collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business experts, legal professionals, and other stakeholders, to ensure effective data governance practices.
• You will be responsible for defining and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• By leveraging your expertise, you will implement advanced data management tools, such as data dictionaries and data catalogs, to enhance data discovery, data mining, and request management processes.

As a Data Governance Officer, you will:

• monitor and audit your designated data area to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance (with security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR.)
• work closely with data experts to enrich the data catalog with valuable insights, ensuring it remains a comprehensive and reliable resource for the organization.
• Through your efforts, you will champion data governance best practices, sharing knowledge and promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.
• In addition to your governance responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the construction and management of our data platform.
• By staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations for enhancing our data infrastructure and ensuring its scalability, security, and performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Good experience working with SQL Queries (or having experience in coding) is a plu

- Affinity with Data & IT, with a background in Economics, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience of 3-5 years in data management, with a focus on data governance.
- A client-oriented mindset with a strong focus on delivering value to stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to navigate complex data challenges.
- Results-oriented approach with a track record of achieving objectives and driving continuous improvement.
- Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Managerial courage to address challenges, drive positive change, and advocate for data governance best practices.
