MISSION


Part of the IT Governance and Transversal Services Department, The Project Management Office acts as a center of excellence, liaising with all departments, coordinating and striving for implementation in agreed budget, time and scope. It is also responsible for the analysis, planning and management of projects related to operational and system improvements.

 

Within this team, the IT PMO manages a portfolio of projects and he/she is responsible for the health, the governance, and good performance of his/her portfolio:

  • Investment compliance,
  • Budget compliance,
  • Delivery commitment (on time, on budget and within the scope)
  • Reporting and monitoring
  • Functional management of up to 20 Project Managers
  • Manager up to 25 projects and a budget up to 15M€

 

MAIN TASKS

 

GOVERNANCE


Processes & Policies

  • Define and implement the Project Management Governance
  • Develop standards and processes
  • Draft new and improve existing project management office policies and processes
  • Encourage (or enforce where necessary) the use of those standards and processes
  • Make sure that projects and programs are run in a repeatable, standardized way

Project Roadmap

  • Manage dependencies across multiple projects
  • Manage the projects roadmap, including prioritization, planning and execution monitoring
  • Continuously evaluate projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines
  • Run a portfolio of demanding, business critical, strategically important projects
  • Manage resources for projects
  • Accurately document the project's creation, development, and execution as well as document the project's scope, budget, and justification
  • Produce reports
  • Provide financial reports such as return on investment and budget outlines to Executives
  • Gather data about project progress
  • Constant supervision of all project budgets, initiating proper approval processes and guaranteeing transparency with decision takers
  • Track and manage project benefits

Training

  • Guide, motivate and assess a professional team of PMs, leading the team to high performance and excellence in all areas
  • Deliver training and mentoring project team members

Communication

  • Act as the link between Business, IT and Project Managers by ensuring professional and positive communications with all stakeholders
  • Liaise with the Executive Committee and Department Heads, striving to deliver projects in agreed scope, timeframe and budget

Optimize internal processes

  • Ensure the proper application of procedures in place and make any necessary corrective action
  • Encourage teams to take measured risks and challenge the existing procedures and processes
  • Mobilize the necessary resources, optimizing existing resources while emphasizing timeliness to ensure quality
  • Promote communication within teams and encourage action to speed ensuring consistent interfaces between the service and the rest of the organization
  • Be force proposal daily to experiment with new ways to improve the customer experience

 

COLLABORATION

  • Collaborate closely with the different actors (Other IT-departments, Project Managers, IT-Dircoms
  • Develop his/her own expertise, professionalism and client orientation
  • Help to optimize internal operations
  • Support internal communication
  • Be an active ambassador of Carrefour and encourage colleagues to become more so.

 

PROFILE


Studies & experience

 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • Experience with one or more project management methodologies
  • Project Management Certification; however, demonstrated experience of five or more years of program and project management can serve as equivalent to certification.
  • Native speaker level in Dutch or French and a professional command of English.
